The West Virginia Sheriffs' Youth Leadership Academy is an annual, week-long summer residential program of recreational and educational development for teenage boys and girls from throughout the state. This year's camp was our largest ever! We registered 181 participants and graduated a record 173!! No, not everyone makes it through and we are extremely proud of those who stuck it out and were able to hold their head high on Friday. The Academy presents accurate information on drug and alcohol abuse, juvenile violence prevention, law enforcement responsibilities and the processes of county government. Hopefully, through this website, we can share experiences, exchange ideas, view photographs taken throughout the week and most importantly, keep in touch with each other until next year!!!
